Pewter came to 4 Paws as a stray. His fur was matted with weeds, his tail kinked in two places; he purred his heart out to all, thankful to be safe. But, Pewter’s untreated ear infection was and is a problem of grave concern. His ears are forever curled over with scar tissue left from the infection that also ravaged his eardrums and canals. The insides of Pewter’s ears are literally closed shut with scar tissue. Only tiny openings remain to clean the base of his ears. A false move while cleaning Pewter’s ears could damage the fragile tissue leading to his brain. Once these opening close, the base of his ears can be kept clean. Infection will follow. Located so close to his brain, it would be life threatening.
Surgery to remove his damaged ear canals will save the life of this wonderful kitty. Surgery is Pewter’s only option. The surgery and after care extremely expensive. 4 Paws is asking for you help, a donation of any amount to save Pewter’s life. Please help 4 Paws save Pewter’s life. |

While there are many organizations throughout the country supporting the welfare of animals, it has to warm your heart to know that a group such as Guardian Angels for Soldier's Pets exists. They are creating a "Foster home network throughout the United States to provide a caring, loving, and safe home environment for military service members (all branches of service) and veterans' pets during their owner's deployment or an emergency hardship." |

At 4 Paws, we utilize foster homes for the cats, dogs, and kittens that require the extra love and attention that can only be found in a home. Whether they are new born kittens, senior cats that need a lap to curl into, or dogs that need room to run after that rubber ball, we seek temporary homes to meet their needs. Foster parents open their homes and 4 Paws provides the training, food, and support to provide a successful fostering program. Please read on to learn more about becoming a foster parent. |
